    Updates from Local Alumni Clubs

    February 26, 2015

The Syracuse University Alumni Club of Washington, DC, and B’More Orange, the Syracuse University Alumni Club of Greater Baltimore, recently elected new officers and have exciting events planned for the spring. Meet the incoming club presidents—Natalie Clay ’10 of Washington and Sarah Nelson-Balonis 05 of Baltimore—and see what’s coming up in each region:

    Alumni Club of Washington, DC

We’re commemorating National Orange Day on March 24, 2015 by partnering with the Children’s Inn at the National Institute of Health (NIH). We hope to donate 44 toys for children undergoing treatment, and our wish list can be found on Amazon.com. In addition, we’re offering discounted tickets for alumni to join us on May 19, as the Washington Nationals take on the New York Yankees.

As your new club president, you’ll see me often at events. Please say hello! I want to know you and learn about your challenges and triumphs. We all love to hear suggestions from alumni, so share your ideas! Feel free to ask any of the current board members about their experiences, you’ll know who they are from their “board member” badges at events. Be sure to check out our website, SUinDC.org, to stay in the know.

    Forever Orange,
    Natalie Clay ’10, President

    Alumni Club of Baltimore

It’s my pleasure to serve as president of B’More Orange, the Syracuse University Alumni Club of Greater Baltimore and work to support all alumni, parents, students, and friends of Syracuse University residing in the greater-Baltimore region. During the year, we provide various social, professional, and philanthropic activities for Orange alumni in the area. Since our founding in 1983, our efforts have included happy hours throughout Baltimore, networking events, game-watching gatherings, community volunteer programs, fundraisers, and more.

This year we’re especially excited to celebrate National Orange Day with the Parks & People organization. On March 21, 2015 our club will be at Gwynns Falls Trail, 525 Hurley Avenue, Baltimore, to help with pruning, mulching, and putting up deer fencing. We’re also planning a lunch tailgate afterward, and all Orange alumni, families, and friends are welcome. Come out to support a great cause and get know fellow alumni in our area!

You can stay updated on all our happenings at bmoreorange.org.

    Go Orange!

    Sarah Nelson-Balonis ’05, President
