Where are you currently living? I live in Falls Church, VA.
What are you planning to do with your degree? I want to be a journalist and write for a print or online publication. I've recently become interested in education reporting, and I can see myself covering issues in our nation's public schools.
How did participating in Immersion Week impact your career path? Since I live right outside of D.C., I chose to apply for Immersion Week so I could see what opportunities I can pursue if I come back home after graduating from SU. I was really excited by our visits to The Washington Post, The Atlantic, and Voice of America because I was able to more clearly visualize myself making it in the industry, and having all these options in front of me. Immersion Week also led me to apply to Voice of America, which is where I currently work as an summer intern.
Any advice for potential Immersion Week participants/future SU students? Don't be afraid to ask questions on your visits, even personal ones. The alumni and other hosts that you will meet on the trip want to help you feel more secure about post-grad life. I think you'll find that lot of them were also confused about their futures once, and they figured it out the same way we will too.
